To leave a home and a familiar lifestyle to which we had become accustomed for 25 years in order to buy a plot and build a new house nearly 250 miles away in the very heart of Highland Scotland - and to do it at the tender age of 65 - was a project that some of our friends considered somewhat 'ambitious', and others rather challenging .

As it turned out, the purchase of a plot was relatively straight forward, but finding a reliable builder upon whom we could depend to design the house, handle all the necessary planning formalities, manage the entire project and deliver it on time was another matter. It was therefore a stroke of good luck during an internet search that we found and subsequently contracted Roy Homes to carry out the build on our behalf.

From the very first meeting with Chris Barnett and then later with Marc Swanson we had every confidence that Roy Homes would provide us with a home that would be built to the highest standards, at a price within our limited budget, and on the timescale to which we were committed.

Roy Homes have delivered everything that they promised. In so doing, they were always very kind, helpful and understanding, yet never once compromising on their meticulous attention to quality and detail. Our requests for additions and modifications were always handled promptly, courteously and with understanding. From the first day of the build to
the last they maintained steady progress of which we were always kept fully informed.

We employed Roy Homes principally upon the recommendation of others. But our confidence in them, and their abilities, was enhanced during our earliest meetings and correspondence when it became abundantly clear to us that they always adopted a very detailed and efficient approach to any task which was placed before them.

We are now settled into, and delighted with, our new home, which is everything we wished for and, we often hear, is the envy of others.
